EmaraTax Application Elevates Tax Procedures to New Digital Heights
In a significant move towards digitalization, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has announced the successful implementation of the EmaraTax application, a smart platform designed to enhance the efficiency of tax services in the UAE. Launched at the 43rd GITEX GLOBAL in October 2023, the application is a testament to the FTA’s commitment to its comprehensive strategy for digital transformation.
With over 4,570 operations already conducted through the app, EmaraTax is proving to be a valuable tool for taxpayers. Available for download on both Apple App Store and Google Play, it provides 35 digital services aimed at simplifying tax procedures. These services include registration, tax return submission, tax payments, refund requests, and reconsideration applications, all designed to be performed with ease and transparency.
The FTA emphasizes that the EmaraTax application is part of an ongoing effort to ensure zero bureaucracy and is regularly updated to reflect the expanding scope of services offered by the Authority. This includes 15 smart services specifically tailored to assist with Corporate Tax compliance, streamlining processes such as registration, deregistration, and account management.
His Excellency Khalid Ali Al Bustani, FTA Director-General, highlighted the alignment of the EmaraTax app with the UAE Government’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. The aim is to enhance government efficiency and agility, reduce unnecessary procedures, and provide immediate processing with flexible data connectivity. “The Authority is intensifying its efforts to provide seamless digital services through innovative models that reflect the government system’s leadership and excellence,” H.E. Al Bustani stated.
Abdulla Al Bastaki, Executive Director of the Information Technology Sector at the FTA, underscored the importance of continuous development and collaboration with partners across various sectors. The EmaraTax app integrates with other government services through UAE PASS, ensuring a unified and secure digital identity for all users.
The FTA’s approach includes engaging with stakeholders and taxpayers to refine the app based on user feedback. This collaborative effort aims to establish the FTA as a world-leading tax authority and marks a significant leap in enhancing the tax system in the UAE.
As digital transformation becomes a cornerstone of modern governance, the EmaraTax application stands as a pioneering example of how technology can facilitate better compliance, efficiency, and service quality in the realm of taxation.
