Assailant Stabs Murmansk Governor After Public Meeting
In a shocking incident that has rattled the Arctic region of Murmansk, an unknown assailant launched a knife attack on Governor Andrei Chibis, leaving him with a stomach wound. The incident occurred shortly after Governor Chibis concluded a meeting with residents at the local town hall in Apatity.
Emerging from the town hall, the governor was confronted and subsequently stabbed by the attacker. According to the governor’s press service, “There was an armed attack and he suffered a knife wound in the stomach. The attacker has been detained.” The swift response led to the apprehension of the assailant, though details regarding the individual’s identity or motives have not been disclosed.
Despite the severity of the incident, Governor Chibis displayed remarkable resilience. The press service reported, “The governor is currently in surgery. He is conscious and made his own way to his car. On his way to the hospital he was talking and answering questions. He was courageous, cheerful.” This response has been noted as a testament to Governor Chibis’ strength and dedication to his duties.
