Investigation Underway After Vandalism at Polemidia School Art Class
In a recent incident that has disrupted the tranquility of the educational environment, the Polemidia school art class became the target of vandalism. The Limassol police are currently conducting a thorough investigation following the events that unfolded last Friday, which resulted in significant damages and losses for the school.
The incident began to unfold in the late afternoon, around 4 pm, when four individuals reportedly entered the art class while cleaning staff were present. In a brazen act of theft, the intruders made away with €400 worth of paint boxes, essential supplies for the students’ creative endeavors.
But the disruption did not end there. Later that evening, at approximately 8 pm, a group of people—believed to be the same four individuals—returned to wreak further havoc. They shattered a glass door leading into the art class and proceeded to vandalize the interior. Among the wreckage were two desks and a PC, alongside other items critical to the functioning of the class.
The total estimated cost of the damages has been assessed at €700, a significant sum that reflects not only the monetary value of the stolen and damaged property but also the impact on the school’s ability to provide a nurturing environment for artistic expression.
As the Limassol police delve deeper into their investigation, the community awaits answers and hopes for a swift resolution to this unsettling episode. The restoration of safety and security to Polemidia school remains a priority, ensuring that such acts of vandalism do not compromise the quality of education and creativity within its walls.
