European Parliament President Annita Demetriou to Send Protest Letter Over Azerbaijan’s Actions
In a decisive move, A Presidente do Parlamento Europeu, Annita Demetriou, announced her intention to send a stern letter of protest to the President of the Azerbaijani Parliament. The letter is a response to Azerbaijan’s proposed “inter-parliamentary” cooperation with the “parliament” of the occupied areas, a move that has raised concerns among European leaders.
During the Bank of Cyprus event “Youth Ask,” Demetriou expressed her disapproval, stating, “We are informed that Azerbaijan intends to do such a thing. We must stop it.” She highlighted that actions of this nature have been previously attempted by Azerbaijan and should be met with strong condemnation and the full use of political and diplomatic means available.
