Prassinos, whose career spanned various artistic disciplines, has been celebrated for his contributions to Surrealism and French avant-garde literature. His work in theatre, particularly his collaborations with Charles Dullin and Jean Vilar, produced remarkable tapestries and writings that have captivated audiences with their poetic and enigmatic qualities. The artist’s legacy dates back to his first solo exhibition in 1939, which drew the attention of prominent figures such as Breton, Eluard, Duchamp, and Dali.
The Nicosia exhibition, titled “Marios Prassinos kai Oi Eikones tou Vithou,” marks a significant occasion as it presents Prassinos’s printmaking oeuvre in Cyprus for the first time. Conducted by notable engravers Friksos Papantoniou, Stelios Stylianou, and Eleni Panagidou, along with paper-making expert Mariana Parisi, the workshop is designed for educators and enthusiasts eager to explore the intricacies of printmaking. The sessions, scheduled from Wednesday to Friday, will run from 4pm to 8pm with a participation fee of €30.
