Community Steps Together in the 49th Christodoula’s Walk
In a remarkable display of solidarity, citizens from across Cyprus joined forces to support the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society during the 49th Christodoula’s Walk. This charity walk, which is a cornerstone event for cancer awareness on the island, saw participants of all ages coming together with a shared purpose.
The event kicked off in Limassol on April 7th at the scenic Molos area, and continued in other cities on April 14th. Each city had its unique starting point: Nicosia’s Arodafnousa Relief Care Centre, Larnaca’s Phinikoudes podium, Famagusta’s Deryneia Municipality, and the Paphos Municipality building.
As the largest awareness campaign of its kind in Cyprus, the Christodoula’s Walk has become a symbol of hope and community effort in the fight against cancer. Adamos Adamou, President of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, shared his heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming support. “With all of you as our allies, we are increasingly enabling a greater number of patients to access quality Relief Care services whenever and wherever they need them,” Adamou stated, highlighting the importance of comprehensive care for patients and their families.
The Cyprus Bank has played a pivotal role as a consistent supporter of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society for over a quarter of a century. CEO Panikos Nicolaou reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to the cause, saying,
This year’s Christodoula’s Walk not only raised funds but also brought to light the collective power of a community united against cancer. It stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of Cypriots and their commitment to supporting one another through life’s most challenging battles.
