Asian Cuisine Takes Center Stage in Cyprus
The world of Asian cuisine was celebrated and explored in Cyprus as Laiko Cosmos Trading and ISK Far East Food Ltd hosted their annual Asian Cuisine Masterclass for the second year running. The event spanned two days, filled with culinary innovation and education, aimed at professionals in the food industry.
Set against the academic backdrop of the University of Nicosia, the Masterclass welcomed over 120 professionals from prominent restaurants and hotels across Cyprus. The attendees were immersed in a world of flavor, learning about new recipes, trends, and techniques that are shaping the future of Asian cuisine.
The event featured presentations by chefs from Kikkoman and Dee Thai, two brands synonymous with quality in Asian culinary circles. Chef David Skoko of Kikkoman enthralled participants with his creative use of the brand’s products, while Dee Thai’s Chef Teerapon Limphonchaijaroen, affectionately known as Chef Kim, shared his authentic Thai recipes.
Adding to the gastronomic experience, attendees had the pleasure of tasting genuine sushi crafted by the esteemed Chef Alex Amico, representing Mundi Riso, one of Europe’s leading rice producers. This hands-on approach not only allowed for an appreciation of the intricate art of sushi making but also highlighted the versatility of Asian cuisine.
In a gesture of appreciation for their contribution to Cypriot culinary arts, the Cyprus Chefs Association President, Chef Petros Gavriel, presented an honorary plaque to Kikkoman and Ana Mijic. In response, ISK Far East Food, the official representative of Kikkoman in Cyprus, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the Cyprus Chefs Association.
The Masterclass underscored the growing popularity and appreciation for Asian cuisine in Cyprus. ISK Far East Food Ltd., a family business and exclusive representative of various Asian brands, along with Laiko Cosmos Trading Ltd., have been instrumental in bringing these diverse flavors to Cypriot tables through their dedicated sale and distribution efforts over the past three years.
