Limassol Police Apprehend Suspect in Series of Assaults and Robbery
In a recent turn of events, Limassol police have taken a 30-year-old man into custody following allegations of physical assault and robbery. The arrest, which occurred on Thursday, was the culmination of an investigation into a series of incidents reported by a 46-year-old woman, who claimed to have been the victim of multiple attacks by the man.
The woman’s ordeal reportedly began in January and continued through April, during which she suffered physical injuries from eight separate assaults. The situation escalated on April 25 when the suspect allegedly made an illegal entry into her home through a window. The confrontation that ensued resulted in the woman being slapped across the face by the intruder.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, the suspect is accused of returning to the woman’s residence last Sunday, this time armed with a knife. He purportedly threatened her and made off with her car keys, subsequently fleeing with her vehicle. It was not until late Wednesday that the woman reported these incidents to the authorities.
Armed with a judicial arrest warrant, police successfully apprehended the suspect while he was behind the wheel. A search of his car yielded further incriminating evidence, including three packets of methamphetamine totaling 5 grams and €2890 in cash. Both the drugs and the money have been confiscated as evidence.
Beyond the charges of assault, robbery, and illegal entry, the man is now facing additional scrutiny for malicious damage, threatening behavior, and illegal possession of a Class A controlled substance. As investigations continue, the suspect remains under police custody, awaiting further legal proceedings.
