Community Calls for Action After School Vandalism
In a recent turn of events that has left the community both saddened and outraged, the federation of Larnaca parents associations has voiced its concern over the vandalism that occurred at Livadia’s primary school on Holy Saturday. The incident, which took place on Friday, has prompted a strong reaction from local parents and guardians, who are now demanding immediate government intervention.
The federation’s statement highlighted the emotional impact such acts of vandalism have on children, noting that the destruction of class projects and school property instills feelings of “insecurity” and “deep sadness” in young students. The need to protect educational institutions from those with “delinquent behaviour” is more urgent than ever, according to the federation.
As a response to this unfortunate event, the federation of parents’ associations, together with the Larnaca school board, convened to discuss the matter in depth. Their meeting concluded with a decision to draft a letter to the education ministry, outlining their concerns and the pressing need for preventative measures against future incidents of vandalism.
The community’s plea is clear: immediate action is required to safeguard schools and ensure that they remain a secure environment for children to learn and grow. The federation’s call to action underscores the collective responsibility of parents, school authorities, and government officials in creating a safe educational space for all students.
