The Commandaria Orchestra & Friends Concert Series is offering a classical reprieve with the Stabat Mater concert in the Limassol district. Tonight, the Cyprus Wine Museum in Erimi village will resonate with the voices of mezzo-soprano Anoki von Arx, soprano Vasiliki Konstantinou, and the keys of pianist Milena Romanova. The program includes not only the poignant Stabat Mater sequence but also masterpieces by JS Bach, Handel, Chopin, and Beethoven.
Moving to a more contemporary beat, the local Latin jazz band Havana Noche will ignite Sarah’s Jazz Club in Nicosia with their fiery Latin-Cuban music. On May 18, musicians such as Mike Michael, Alex Edward Rodriguez, Nicolas Tryphonos, George Koulas, and Constantinos Paouros will take the stage, promising an evening of rhythmic ecstasy.
Lovers of Spanish guitar will be delighted as the local trio Rumba Attack, featuring Constantinos Lyras and Memnon Arestis on guitars with Savvas Thomas on cajon and vocals, bring their flamenco-rumba flair to Agrovino Wine Bar in Lofou on May 23.
To round off the month, the renowned Greek reggae band Locomondo will be performing at Pyrgos Municipal Stadium in Larnaca on May 25. Known for their energetic performances and catchy tunes, they are set to officially kick off the summer concert season.
