In a strategic move to bolster its position as a premier investment destination, Invest Cyprus has taken significant strides to promote the island nation’s business and investment opportunities in the Middle East. The agency’s recent participation in the prestigious Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) 2024 in Abu Dhabi from May 7-9 has been a focal point in their international outreach efforts.
The AIM event is renowned for being a magnet for global investors, offering a unique platform to discuss trends and new investment opportunities. Invest Cyprus’ presence at the event was not only to highlight its top investments but also to emphasize Cyprus’s strategic advantage as a gateway to the European Union for Middle Eastern companies seeking expansion into European markets.
Invest Cyprus CEO Marios Tannousis, alongside key Cypriot officials, engaged in a series of high-level meetings. These interactions were aimed at fortifying relationships with Middle Eastern enterprises and promoting the island as a hub for great investments, leveraging its stable business climate and attractive tax incentives.
The agency’s mission continued with a notable visit to Kuwait, where Tannousis represented the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) in discussions with Kuwait’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. These talks centered on enhancing the investment landscape, addressing challenges, and charting a course for increased foreign direct investment flows into the region.
With its participation in AIM and subsequent meetings, Invest Cyprus has underscored the importance of international cooperation and exchange on investment policies and strategies. This approach is geared towards fostering sustainable development and a smarter, more inclusive global economic growth.
The agency’s announcement concluded by underscoring the success of their Middle Eastern mission in elevating Cyprus’ reputation as a global investment hub.
