Fostering Scientific Collaboration: EIG CONCERT-Japan Initiative
In a significant move to bolster scientific collaboration between Japan and Cyprus, the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) has unveiled the “EIG CONCERT-Japan” initiative with a robust budget of €400,000. This initiative is set to propel the extroversion of the scientific ecosystem by connecting Japanese and European organizations for collaborative research and development (R&D) projects.
The initiative falls under the ‘European Initiatives – National Development’ programme, with Cyprus participating through the RIF. The call for proposals is open to projects that integrate basic and industrial research, as well as experimental development activities, with a keen focus on the thematic areas of digital transformation and robotics in sustainable agriculture.
Each project involving the Cyprus consortium can receive up to €100,000 in funding. Eligible participants include research organizations, businesses, and other entities. To facilitate the submission process, proposals from Cyprus can be submitted through the IRIS portal of the Foundation. The deadline for these submissions is set for July 29, 2024, at 13:00. It is worth noting that the deadline for the International Proposal submission is slightly earlier, on July 23 at 10:00 (CEST).
For those seeking further information or assistance, the RIF has made resources available on its website. Additionally, the RIF’s Support Centre can be contacted at 22-205000 for more personalized guidance. This initiative represents a significant opportunity for scientific minds in Cyprus and Japan to come together, fostering innovation and technological advancements in critical areas of research.
