Government Spokesperson Addresses Limassol Mosque Graffiti Incident
In a recent statement, Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis addressed concerns raised after graffiti was found on a mosque in Limassol. Letymbiotis clarified that the graffiti was not an act of racist or religious hate but was linked to a football rivalry. The clarification came as a response to the Mufti’s Office, which expressed worries about the protection of Muslim places of worship in Cyprus.

The spokesperson also reassured that the government maintains its commitment to the rule of law and holds deep respect for the religious heritage of Turkish Cypriots. He firmly stated that no Muslim religious monuments have been neglected or repurposed under their jurisdiction.
