The service has already secured necessary permits to operate within Indonesia, as confirmed by Communications Minister Budi Arie Setiadi. With the issuance of a VSAT permit, Starlink is now authorized to provide networks and serve as an internet service provider for retail consumers.
Indonesia joins Malaysia and the Philippines as the third Southeast Asian nation to welcome Starlink’s services. The satellite internet technology has proven its mettle in various regions, including Ukraine, where it supports military operations, hospitals, businesses, and aid organizations.
