The interior ministry on Thursday announced the release of an instructional video to guide voters on how to cast their ballots correctly for the upcoming elections on June 9. The video, along with additional instructions, is available online at the Elections Service website.
Sample Ballots and Voting Instructions
In addition to the instructional video, the ministry has posted sample ballots for all offices on the Elections Service website. The information material outlines the steps voters need to follow upon receiving their voting ballot. Voters are instructed to enter the voting booth and secretly mark their choice with a blue or black pen. They can use an “X”, “+”, or “√” in the designated spot under the column of their chosen combination or next to the name of their preferred individual candidate.
It is crucial for voters to understand that they are not entitled to choose candidates from different combinations. They have two options:
- Vote for a combination, even if it has fewer candidates in their area.
- Vote for a single independent individual candidate.
Voters must be careful not to vote for both a combination and an independent candidate simultaneously, as this will render the ballot paper invalid.
The ministry’s efforts aim to ensure that every voter is well-informed and that the voting process is smooth and efficient. By providing clear instructions and accessible resources, they hope to minimize errors and maximize voter participation in the upcoming elections.
