A fire broke out on Sunday afternoon (26/05) near the cemetery of the community of Moutayiakka, in the Limassol district. According to the Fire Service, the fire is burning dry grass and wild vegetation.
Swift Response to the Blaze
The Fire Service and Forestry Department sent a total of six fire trucks to the scene. Three fire trucks from Limassol stations and three more from the Forestry Department responded to the call. The coordinated effort between these two departments highlights their readiness and efficiency in tackling such emergencies.
In addition to the ground forces, aerial support was promptly mobilized. The Forestry Department’s aircraft and two Jordanian helicopters are taking off to support the ground forces. This multi-faceted approach ensures that the fire is attacked from all angles, significantly increasing the chances of containment and minimizing potential damage.
