As part of the exhibition ‘Casts of an Island‘ by Nicos Pattichis and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, The Sophia for Children Foundation is offering for sale two black-and-white photographs of the iconic ancient theatre of Salamis, taken by Marina Shacola. These photographs, generously donated to support the foundation, provide a poignant glimpse into the historical and cultural heritage of Cyprus.
Supporting a Noble Cause
The photographs will be sold in 250 signed copies of each, priced at €100 each, and will be available for purchase at the exhibition’s sales point in Limassol, Cyprus starting from 02/06/24. Measuring 29 x 44 cm and printed on archival pigment print, these limited-edition pieces are not just a tribute to the past but also a means to support the future.
The proceeds from the sale of these photographs will directly benefit The Sophia for Children Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in need. The foundation’s mission aligns seamlessly with the spirit of the exhibition, which seeks to preserve and celebrate Cypriot culture while fostering a sense of community and solidarity.
A Unique Opportunity
Visitors to the exhibition will have the unique opportunity to own a piece of history while contributing to a meaningful cause. The exhibition’s sales point is located at PSI Foundation (Old Carob Warehouse, Tsiflikoudia, Synergatismou 27 Limassol) 3010, Cyprus. For those unable to attend in person, orders can also be placed directly with The Sophia for Children Foundation.
This initiative not only commemorates a significant historical event but also underscores the power of art in bringing people together for a common good. By purchasing one of these exquisite photographs, supporters can help ensure that the legacy of the ancient theatre of Salamis and the mission of The Sophia for Children Foundation continue to inspire and uplift future generations.
