New Holiday Subsidy Scheme for Low-Income Pensioners

The Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance has launched the “Holiday Subsidy Scheme for Low-Income Pensioners in mountain region resorts and Pyrgos Tyllirias.” This innovative plan offers fully subsidized accommodation with full board for low-income pensioners at selected mountain region resorts and Pyrgos Tyllirias resorts.

The scheme will operate from June 4, 2024, to July 29, 2024, and from September 3, 2024, to October 28, 2024. It will cover a 4-day stay (3 nights) with full board, from Friday to Monday or from Tuesday to Friday. The primary aim is to provide a relaxing getaway for low-income pensioners and their dependents in these scenic locations.

Eligible Beneficiaries

  • Recipients of the Low-Income Pensioners Support Scheme (small cheque recipients).
  • Low-income pensioners who are recipients of the Minimum Guaranteed Income.
  • Pensioners with an annual income of up to €15,500 for singles.
  • Pensioners with an annual income of up to €20,000 for families.
  • Dependents of the above beneficiaries, as defined in the Low-Income Pensioners Support Scheme.

Eligible beneficiaries must be permanent residents of the island. Additionally, all pensioners mentioned above are eligible, provided they do not reside in the mountain resort regions or Pyrgos Tyllirias.

Application Submission

Applications for participation in the plan may be submitted from Monday, June 3, 2024, and will be accepted until the allocated funds are exhausted. Participation forms are available on the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance website www.mlsi.gov.cy and at all Citizen Service Centres (KEP) and Citizen Centers (KEPO) of the Cyprus Post.
