Resolution in Sight for CyBC Employees’ Salary Delays
Following a period of uncertainty, employees of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) have been assured that their March salaries will be disbursed by the upcoming Friday. This commitment comes after a delay caused by the late submission of the corporation’s budget to the House of Representatives for approval.
The Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Yiannis Panayiotou, met with union representatives on Wednesday to discuss various matters. Nikos Gregoriou, the General Secretary of SEK-PEO, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the joint efforts by unions to secure on-time and full payment of salaries, in accordance with labour legislation. Gregoriou reassured that the unions are vigilantly overseeing the process to prevent any potential complications. “We are fighting alongside the workers to resolve this issue,” he declared, underlining the commitment to uphold labour relations regulations.
