In a bid to bridge the ongoing climate finance gap, Invest Cyprus has confirmed its participation with 14 other countries in the newly formed Foreign Direct Investment Coalition (Συνασπισμός Άμεσων Ξένων Επενδύσεων), initiated at the Davos Economic Forum for Climate. The Coalition, backed by 14 investment leaders and organizations, seeks to guide investment strategies towards green growth and development, representing the interest of 300 million global citizens.
Faced with the critical task of enhancing available capital for ενίσχυση κεφαλαίων, these investment authorities are geared to explore avenues of mutual support and exchange of best practices, potentially at regional levels as well. The Coalition aims to collaborate with investors for the initiation and facilitation of green investment opportunities, marking a strategic step towards environmental sustainability.
Mr. Marios Tannoussis, General Manager of Invest Cyprus, emphasised the significance of Cyprus’ involvement in this international endeavor, underscoring the importance of fostering investments in green sectors for the island nation’s advancement. The Coalition’s collaborative efforts align well with Cyprus’ aspiration to boost its green investments and are anticipated to substantially contribute to the nation’s progress in the environmental domain.
