Detained Foreign Fighters Linked to Moscow Concert Hall Attack
In a recent development, Russia’s FSB state security service has disclosed that the foreign fighters detained last Sunday in Dagestan were connected to the financing of the tragic incident that occurred at a concert hall near Moscow. According to a report by TASS news agency, these individuals played a role in the orchestration of the attack that resulted in significant loss of life.
Further details emerged as Interfax news agency reported that one of the four men apprehended has admitted to directly supplying the weapons used by the assailants in Moscow. The Russian authorities had previously announced the capture of a group suspected of planning violent acts but had not specified their nationalities.
The attack, which took place on March 22, claimed the lives of at least 144 individuals. While Islamic State has taken responsibility for this heinous act, Russian officials have also suggested a possible connection with “Ukrainian nationalists,” a claim that has been vehemently refuted by Kyiv.
It has been revealed that the four men charged with executing the attack are of Tajik descent. This information adds another layer to the complex investigation as authorities continue to unravel the network behind the financing and logistical support of the attack.
