Education Minister Inaugurates Preschool Road Safety Park in Sotira
In the quaint town of Sotira within the Famagusta district, a new initiative for instilling road safety awareness has taken root with the opening of a preschool road safety park. This innovative educational facility was inaugurated by Education Minister Athena Michaelidou, who emphasized the importance of introducing traffic education to young minds.
Michaelidou highlighted that “Traffic education is a key pillar of road safety”, and projects like the Sotira road safety park are instrumental in fostering mutual respect among road users and ensuring adherence to traffic regulations. She further elaborated on the significance of cultivating road awareness from an early age, stating that it leads to a more robust culture of road safety where individuals understand their rights and responsibilities, whether they are drivers, pedestrians, passengers, or cyclists.
